Many Apple Stores are out of stock of the 21,5-inch iMac

Next Tuesday we have a new event's audience virtual Apple. Since November, a Mac mini and several MacBook of the new Apple Silicon era have been on the market. The only thing missing to complete the catalog is a Mac desktop with the M1 processor. And now, the Apple Stores are out of the 21,5-inch iMac.

So it doesn't take Ming-Chi Kuo to tie up these ends, and to be able to predict with a high probability of being right that Federighi or one of his colleagues will show us on April 20, after seven in the afternoon Spanish time, a new iMac with an ARM processor.

The entire range of 21,5-inch iMac options is experiencing a decline in availability in Apple Stores around the world, with delivery dates for online orders of the most basic option more than a week.

A vast majority of Apple Stores currently have the Standard 21,5-inch iMac as not available for immediate purchase. The high-end configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage of the Fusion Drive is currently not available for immediate pickup, with somewhat long lead times. Regardless of configuration, Apple has five to seven business days for store pickup. This means that they no longer have physical stock in stores.

The 21,5-inch high-end iMac with 4K display is also experiencing a lack of availability in some stores; however, in most Apple Stores it remains in stock. The largest 27-inch iMac still available as usual, without any problem in any configuration.

Last month already we informed that apple had discontinued two configurations of the standard 21,5-inch iMac. Apple is rumored to be working on a new 21,5- or 24-inch "small" iMac design to expand the Apple Silicon offering, but whether it will be unveiled on Tuesday is unknown. Everything indicates that it is.

Next week, on Tuesday April 20, Apple will hold its "Spring Loaded" event where the new iPad Pro is expected to be announced. However, it remains to be seen if the new iMac with M1 processor are ready to be presented. On Tuesday we will leave doubts.
