As Mark Gurman has published in Bloomberg, Apple plans to update its AirPods lineup next year with two new models that include third-generation AirPods and AirPods Pro second generation.

With regards to third generation of the AirPods, the report claims that they will inherit an exterior design similar to the current AirPods Pro, with a shorter stem and replaceable ear rubbers, but without the noise cancellation. Apple is looking to improve the battery life of said new AirPods.
For second generation Of the AirPods Pro, Apple aims to make the earbuds more compact by removing the short stem that currently protrudes from the bottom, and is said to be testing a design with a more rounded shape that fills the user's ear more, lo that would make them more similar to the current Samsung Galaxy Buds and others of similar designs from Amazon and Google.
A new HomePod in the works?
Apple is also planning a new model of HomePod That would be between the original HomePod and the recently introduced HomePod mini, according to Gurman. Such a device would be in size, price and sound quality between the original HomePod and the HomePod mini. It's unclear whether Apple will eventually release that product or just lower the price of the high-end version even further. We will see then.
