MateBook X, Huawei's new laptop is already official and it looks a lot like one we know ...

Today, Huawei's new laptop, the MateBook X, was officially unveiled. This computer, which obviously has the Windows 10 operating system, offers the user a new air in terms of specifications and above all it closely resembles the worked design of Apple's 12-inch MacBook. This is not something that we invented ourselves since at first glance you can see that these new computers from the Chinese firm look like Apple's Mac and this is not bad, it is good for several reasons. In any case, we are going to take a closer look at these new MateBook Xs that arrive at a key moment for users.

They are not Huawei's first laptops, the firm already had its MateBook for a year and obviously this version improves the previous one, although it follows a marked line in terms of the design and construction materials of the equipment. The screen becomes larger and grows from 12 inches to 13 without increasing the overall size of the equipment., which continues to offer the same measurements with an 88% screen in 3: 2 format.

MateBook X Specifications

In addition to the larger screen, we find that these teams have a screen opening up to 178 degrees, which makes the team enjoy from various angles, but in addition to this, the team brings:

  • The already mentioned 13-inch 2K screen (2,160 x 1,440 pixels, a density of 200 dpi) and Gorilla Glass protection
  • Next-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 family processor
  • A RAM memory of 4 to 8 GB
  • Internal memory from 256 GB to 512 GB
  • Weight of 1.05 kg
  • Graphics Intel HD Graphics 620
  • 1 megapixel front camera
  • Dolby Atmos sound with two microphones and stereo speakers
  • 3.5mm jack connector

The battery of this equipment is 41,4Wh that the Huawei firm warns that it can last 10 hours consuming video, but all this must be seen directly since it is difficult to obtain that autonomy in current equipment. The charging connector and the only port of the equipment is via USB-C connector And the charger itself is no bigger than that of current mobile devices. further Huawei adds a MateDock2 that expands this single port with HDMI, another USB-C, a USB-A and VGA.

On the cooling of these equipments Huawei presents the system Huawei Space Cooling Technology. This system leaves the equipment without fans like other equipment and if it is well implemented it does not have to have problems of any kind, but we emphasize that it has to be well designed and implemented so that it cools the equipment well and does not cause damage, especially in the long working hours that these MateBook X can undergo and taking into account the power of the processors it is possible that this increases the temperature as well. We leave a small video in which the Chinese firm shows us the operation of this Space Cooling Technology:

Price of this Huawei MateBook X

The Chinese firm's laptop will be available in three colors that remind us a bit of "some equipment" that we have seen on occasion ... The colors are prestige gold, space gray and rose gold, we even know the names. These three teams can be achieved with three possible configurations that make Its price starts at 1.400 euros for the basic model with Intel i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD:

  • i5 - 8GB - 512GB SSD for € 1.599
  • i7 - 8GB - 512GB SSD for € 1.699

In addition to this model, others have been presented at the same event that in principle we can see with lower specifications and obviously cheaper, but we do not believe that they can be directly compared to Apple's 12-inch MacBook. What do you think of this new Huawei MateBook X? Is it a rival to Apple's MacBook?
