Microsoft Office beta for macOS Sierra adds support for the Touch Bar

The compatibility with the applications and different work tools of the new OLED touch bar of the MacBook Pro 2016 is at least somewhat fair, but it is true that all the developers of applications and work tools are putting the batteries to include useful options to the new complement of the MacBook Pro. Apple already showed interest in bringing Microsoft's office suite to their computers a long time ago and now what we have on the table is the option of use these tools on our Mac with the compatibility in the Touch Bar.

In principle we are talking about a beta version for users who are subscribed to Office 365 and are enrolled in the beta program Office Insider Beta. If you meet these requirements in addition to having the latest model of the MacBook Pro released by Apple, you can now enjoy the tools on the touch bar. These options would in principle be integrated into Word, Excel, PowerPoint and in Outlook.

There is no exact date for the release of the official version for all Office 365 users, but it is true that the beta would be working quite well among users who already have it installed so we do not think it will take too long to launch the final version . In any case, it is not mandatory to install the beta version, so if you do not have one of these new Apple devices, we do not see it necessary to install the beta version either, since the main improvement in this case is the option to use tools from the Touch Bar.
