New Apple patent for Augmented Reality glasses

The Apple project related to AR (Augmented Reality) has been latent in the company for a long time and yesterday afternoon a patent was known registered in the United States Patent Office, in which you can see the possibility of marking a place as a POI (Point of Interest) manually with our fingers.

With this, what is achieved is the selection of places while we are seeing a specific place, object or site reflected on a kind of screen or glasses. Apple CEO Tim Cook has always been an advocate for augmented reality versus virtual reality, two very different concepts that people sometimes confuse.

The research and development of this technology may be important for the future and is that many companies are still immersed in it. During the Mobile World Congress I was presented with the opportunity to try out the Microsoft's augmented reality, the HoloLens, And they have nothing to do with virtual reality glasses that work with a smartphone or even the already better HTC Vive.

In this case, the patent registration explains that we are dealing with a method to show points of interest in a real environment, all on a screen or mobile device that allows the user to interact, seeing where they are at all times. Apple continues with its idea and it seems that is not that far from showing everything they have developed more if we take into account Arkit, which is not exactly the same but is on the way.

It is true that from the outside everything can be seen a bit strange but if we try augmented reality we realize that it is not about "isolating ourselves" from the world, rather the opposite and that is that it allows us to interact through gestures, seeing perfectly what happens around us. In any case this is simply a new registered patent and we all know that Apple registers many and not all of them get to be seen in their products, in this case we hope that it will be seen one day.
