New patent for Apple VR glasses

We have been seeing patents and more patents on Apple's augmented reality glasses for a long time, but in reality not a single prototype or real data of them has been leaked. In this case we have a new patent registered and approved on AR glasses Apple.

It seems that in this case what we have before us is a patent that speaks of the general size of the device that has to come to be placed on our face. The truth is that this is an important detail in current augmented reality glasses and is that, for example, Microsoft's HoloLens (which I had the opportunity to test at the MWC) have a somewhat bulky size despite being the most small that we have seen in this type of glasses, but VR or virtual reality headsets are actually bigger.

In this case, what the patent shows us is a specific type of lens that manages to reduce the overall size of the equipment and also allows their calibration to offer the option of use to users who have a visual problem such as myopia or similar. In this case, what stands out in the patent is the potential that they add to the reduction in overall size of glasses, but this will have to be seen in the final product.

Some models of glasses are really bulky but we also have to take into account that they add the option of inserting the smartphones inside, others like those mentioned by Microsoft are much better and with this patent registered in Patently Apple  hopefully we can improve the present, but as always this is a patent and does not mean that it will be used in future Apple glasses, they simply have it registered.
