With the arrival of the HomePod, the starting gun has been given to what could be Apple's line of work in its next products. When we say this we are referring to the fact that the manufacturing method of the HomePod is very different from what we can find in other products such as the iPhone or the Mac in which the engineering work is much greater and therefore disassembling those products is feasible, unlike with the HomePod that to access its interior you have to literally destroy it.
Another novelty in the HomePod manufacturing process is the connection cable to the electrical network and the way it is attached to it. What reason does Apple have to put a cable that cannot be disassembled like in other products?
We do not know what was the reason why Apple decided, in the design phase, that the power cord of the HomePod not removable but by the materials with which it has been made we can get an idea. If you look closely, the HomePod cable is not made with the finish that the cables of other Apple products have, that is, in white or grayish or black rubber as in the modern iMac Pro.
In this case, the HomePod cable is covered by a textile mesh that gives it a much more premium and less cold look than an iMac cable could be. The HomePod is a product that we are going to place in highly visible places in our homes and Apple has thought that it should have a little more quality. But ... why not disassemble? We might think that if a cable of this style could be disassembled we could be damaging its mesh by placing it in inappropriate places. If it remains anchored to the HomePod, it will always be as it should be, that is, without rubbing with other cables or mixing with other products. I don't know, it's the only thing I can think of because I can't find an explanation. Do you think it could have been for a compelling reason?
If it is removable, inquire about bin …….
It is NOT removable, the one that has to be informed is you.
The iFix people have already certified it, you can NOT disassemble the cable
Hi Alfredo. I believe that the one who must verify information is you. The fact that the cable can be pulled out with a pull that you can almost break it to do so does not mean that it is ready for it and it is that it comes fitted with pressure. Thanks for reading.
Inform yourself before please many people will only read you.

I think it may have to do with the fact that it is a device designed to always be in the same place without hardly moving. I suppose removing a connector will save them a small manufacturing cost (which in millions of units would be a good amount of money) and make it "almost" fixed (it can be removed, but as seen in the videos they have published you have to use a lot of force) will avoid involuntary disconnections due to vibrations and others ...
