Currently, Apple CEO Tim Cook is involved in several additional projects beyond those associated with his company in Cupertino. As he has been doing for several years now, he works closely with Nike as a member of the board of directors.
What the sports brand has revealed today is that, due to numerous directional changes that have been taking place in recent months, Tim Cook now becomes the leader of independent directors of the brand, promoting in this way in its particular evolution with Nike.
A long-awaited promotion that has been established as an important piece of a succession plan promoted by one of the presidents of Nike and co-founder of the brand, Phil Knight. Cook is also the chairman of the Board Compensation Committee and a member of the Corporate Appointments Governance Committee.
Knight, for his part, has been named «Honorary president»Of the board, while another chairman in addition to Nike CEO Mark Parker will also serve as chairman of the newly formed board. In the words of Knight himself:

Nike and Apple have enjoyed a close relationship since the early days of the iPod, when the two partnered to bring Nike + for Apple devices of this type. And is that Tim Cook has served the firm with his expertise since 2005.
