Nike Training Club will be available for the Apple Watch

The Apple Watch is today more independent of the iPhone compared to previous versions. This coupled with faster processors makes more and more developers think about dedicating a weight application to the Apple Watch. Nike is a relevant Apple partner in the development of the Apple Watch and this time it strengthens its alliance.

The last to do it has been Nike with its application for training Nike Training Club, which until now was on the iPhone to provide us with information at the time of our trainings and It will have up to 180 different workouts.

Nike tells us that the first germ of the application has been put by users, because they demanded this application to go out to train only with the Apple watch. According to conversations with Mike McCabe at Nike, Head of the Digital Product Innovation Category:

Despite all its positive attributes, there is one thing about the app that athletes wanted to improve: sometimes, they just don't want to have to continually go to the phone in the middle of a session.

The solution is to bring the Nike Training Club app to the Apple Watch: Strong feedback from athletes all over the world were who wanted us to put the best training app on apple watch, and I think we've done it in a way that will make it a great value and intuitive training tool.

Perhaps the only drawback in the initial version is having to depend on the iPhone to start training. That is to say, the watchOS version will serve as a progress monitor for now.

However, athletes gain power to focus more on exercise, without having to rely on looking at the phone. Among other things, they can check:

  • El heart rate, calories burned, as well as other parameters.
  • El progress in completing ringsSince the Nike application exports the evolution to Apple's rings.
  • We will receive notifications about our weekly progress.

We hope to see the final version to know this or other functions not presented so far, to inform you about it.
