Obama mentions Apple, the construction of Macs in the US

The president of the United States Barack Obama, spoke in his speech in Congress last Tuesday, about the Apple company, and it seems that the fact that Apple, among other companies, make Macs in the United States in this year 2013, makes the president proud.

According to the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook reported the news in the press last December and when it also seems that some user received refurbished Macs, with the engraving on their aluminum "Made in USA", we all know that Americans are very American for these things.

This was what said the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook last December:

Next year we will bring some of the production to the United States of the Mac. We have been working on this for a long time, and we were gradually getting closer. We are very proud of this. So, literally, we are going to invest more than 100 million dollars to make this a reality. This does NOT mean that Apple stops manufacturing in other parts of the world, far from it, but working in the US is always good for our country's economy.

These were the words of Tim Cook and this past Tuesday President Barack Obama mentioned the possibility that Apple production of the Mac Mini will begin in the US, which at the moment would create about 200 jobs.

President Obama made the point in the speech:

Our first priority is attracting new US jobs and manufacturing. Our manufacturers have added about 500.000 jobs in the last three years. Caterpillar brought employment from Japan. Ford is recovering jobs that were in Mexico. After locating the plants in other countries like China, Intel is opening its most advanced plant here in our house. And this year Apple will start making Macs in America again.

It is clear that this will bring benefits to the United States, but I am not entirely clear, personally speaking, that Apple will be helped by this initiative, economically speaking, let's remember that labor and infrastructure in the US do not have the same "price" as in China, which is where the largest number of factories that work for Apple.

Do you see a future for this measure adopted by Apple? Do you think it's just “today for you, tomorrow for me, from Apple?
