The Redmond-based company has announced that the next version of Office, dubbed 2021, will arrive before the end of the year, without specifying during which month the launch is scheduled. This version is intended for all those users who do not want to use the Microsoft 365 solution that Microsoft makes available through a subscription.
Last October, Microsoft stated that it was working on a physical version for the next version of Office for meet the needs of these users, users who will eventually use Microsoft cloud services like Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Office 365).
At the moment the company has only announced that it will arrive before the end of the year, a version that will be supported for the next 5 years, until 2026. One of the novelties, which was announced several weeks ago, can be found in support for dark mode, which will finally allow us to work with these applications in low ambient light without ending up with terrible eye pain.
Together with Office 2021, Microsoft launches Office LTC (Lont Term Servicing Channel), a new version of Office for business customers, a version oriented to devices that are not connected to the internet and therefore cannot be updated during the years that it officially receives support from Microsoft, support that will be 5 years.
Microsoft insists that the cloud is the future and sooner or later all users will have to adapt to it.
