The Opera browser has released a major update for Mac among other operating systems, with the launch of its new R5 browser. Key features include shareable pinboards, a new pop-up user interface for greater flexibility with video calling, integration of four music streaming services, and a few more long-awaited and eager new features. It is a breakthrough for this browser and a serious adversary to Safari.

One of the novelties of this new R5 version is the Pinboard creation to save, organize and share. Now we can save websites, images, links and notes. By sharing a link to an Opera pinboard with others, they can access it from any device.
Another of the great features of this new version is a floating popup window for video calls. Those of us who spend many hours on calls are more used to video conferencing that covers the entire screen. It also happens to us that we have problems finding the meeting tab after looking for something in another tab. With the new pop-up video call feature that works with the Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft teams, all those hassles are eliminated:
The video conferencing pop-up window pulls the video out of the tab and keeps it on top of other tabs. This happens automatically when you switch to another tab and the video reappears when you go back to the original tab of the call. Behavior can be adjusted in settings. This makes multitasking easier, so you can stop juggling your tabs during calls. There is also a smart option to make the floating window transparent, giving you more screen and constant contact with people on the call.
Opera integration with Deezer, Soundcloud, Tidal and Gaana. We already had it with Apple Music and Spotify. Now other new services are joining.
