It's nothing new if we say that Overwatch could come to macOS. And we say it because already in May, the vice president of Blizzard commented in an interview that they were open to creating a version of the popular shooter in first person for the Cupertino computers.
Since then, nothing else has been known about the existence of a Mac version or whether Blizzard was testing. This until yesterday when Reddit users came across a very revealing file. So much so that it came from the ranks of the Californian company and that it is focused on the use of Overwatch on macOS.
Remember that this shooter ya It has versions for consoles such as Xbox or PS4, as well as a version for PC computers (Windows). However, it is not a secret that Blizzard has released different titles compatible with Apple computers. Some of these titles are: "Heroes of the Storm", "World of Warcraft", "Hearthstone" or "StarCraft".
But returning to the subject that interests us, if Blizzard wants to conquer once and for all the only platform that remains pending, you will have to bet on launching one of its flagship products on macOS. And according to users, an executable file for Mac has been found. That is, it is a file that can be installed on Cupertino computers, but when it is run, it doesn't work. This would lead to Blizzard actually doing internal testing to get Overwatch to Mac as soon as possible — before Christmas?
However, since publication Polygon they have asked the company directly about this finding. And the response has not been very convincing. What's more, I could say that even disappointing; according to the developer "They have nothing to announce at all times". What they do confirm from Appleinsider, is that the executable file comes from Blizzard, so the most gamers: do not throw in the towel yet.
