Pixelmator Pro is updated being able to treat photos directly from the iPhone

Pixelmator Pro has just been updated to version 1.3.1 and we can download it from the Mac App Store. The alternative to PhotoShop is updated with new functions that allow us to gain productivity in our day to day.

In this line, we can now import photos directly from our iPhone. The app automatically create layers, with the information obtained from the depth and the foreground, to treat them differently. Among other novelties, a comic effect that allows you to quickly convert an image into a drawing, which will surely offer us an unexpected vision of the image in question.

The most innovative and differentiated option of this version of Pixelmator Pro is the depth mask. To date, we have to manually select the two masks and it is also not easy to separate them. Pixelmator Pro from this version on, separates the object and the background into masks. With this, we can increase the luminosity of the person or object, or change the tonality of the background, among many other changes.

Pixelator Pro

If you have recently used Pixelmator Pro and have no knowledge of PhotoShop, you may not know where the skins are in Pixelmator Pro, because they are disabled by default. To enable it, you must right-click on the layer and select "enable mask". To make use of importing photos from our iPhone, we need it to run iOS 12 or later.

Another new feature of Pixelmator 1.3.1 is the project management. To date use a new window for a new project. The novelty is the tabs, for faster access, especially if we are consulting one or the other project. This option, however, can be activated and deactivated, although it is activated by default.

Finally the new comic effect, is an effect inspired by Photo Booth shots. Being an artist is now easier with the help of Pixelmator Pro. The update is available for download from free. If you want to buy it, you are now at 43,99€.
