Playing YouTube and Vimeo videos in Pages and Numbers is now possible with the latest update

Page Numbers Keynote

Apple's office applications, Pages, Numbers and Keynote, are not characterized by receiving updates very often. The average time between updates is around three months, as we can see in the update history. From Apple, true to its tradition of updating its office applications every three months, has just launched a new one.

The main novelty that we find in this new update is the possibility of being able to play embedded video directly from the YouTube and Vimeo platform both in Pages and Numbers, a function that is not available in all countries, especially in those that do not offer access to these platforms.

What's new in version 10.1 of Pages

  • Play embedded Vimeo and YouTube videos directly in documents (not available in all countries).
  • We can add captions and titles to images, videos, figures and objects.
  • Import books created in iBooks Author (this application has been removed from the Mac App Store).
  • New formulas available with more functions.

What's new in version 10.1 of Numbers

  • Play embedded Vimeo and YouTube videos directly in documents (not available in all countries).
  • As in Pages, we can add captions and titles to videos, images, objects and figures.
  • The SEARCH.X, MATCH.X and REGEX functions allow us to search for patterns, create formulas and manipulate texts.

What's new in Keynote version 10.1

  • The new function Play slide show in window, allows us to access other applications while we make the presentation.
  • We can play videos between different slides by adding the video to several slides so that the playback is maintained during the presentation.
  • The Align with Path function allows the objects we add to always point in the direction of movement.
  • As in Pages and Numbers, we can add captions and titles to videos, images, objects and figures.
