If we want our Mac not to go to sleep both inside and outside the Mac App Store we have different tools such as caffeinated, amphetamine y Sleeper applications that offer us so many options that sometimes they are too complex to use, especially for users who just want their Mac not to shut down or go to sleep.
Today we are talking about NoSleep (a name that no longer indicates what function it offers us). This application It has a regular price in the Mac App Store of 9,99 euros, but for a limited time we can download it for free through the link that I leave at the end of this article. The main function of NoSleep is to prevent our Mac from going to sleep.
Unlike other apps like Amphetamine or Caffeinated, NoSleep it does not run in the top menu of our Mac, but offers us its function from the application dock once we execute it.
NoSleep offers us 3 operating modes:
- When you run the application, your Mac will no longer go to sleep until it is closed.
- We can set time until we want our Mac to not go to sleep. When setting the time, a timer will be displayed where we can see the time remaining until the time we have set.
- We can establish the time we want the equipment to not go to sleep. Once the time has been established in which we want it to not go to sleep.
The application will close automatically when the set time arrives or the time we have set has elapsed. After the application is closed, your Mac will return to normal operation and it will go to sleep as configured.
NoSleep does not allow us to prevent our Mac from going to sleep when we close it to work with it connected to an external monitor and keyboard, to avoid heating problems of the device. Being compatible with MacBook, it allows us to prevent it from going to sleep when we are not interacting with it, except until it reaches the battery level that we have previously established.
