Renault will support CarPlay on the Megane, Scenic and Talisman, but not the Clio or Captur

Little by little, CarPlay technology, a technology that allows us to use our iPhone from the multimedia center of our vehicle, is reaching more car manufacturers. More and more manufacturers who are rendering their multimedia systems useless and not very compatible due to the solutions offered by Apple and Android. But sometimes not all vehicles from the same manufacturer are compatible with both systems, but in absurd movements, as in the case of Renault, CarPlay technology will only be available in Megane, Scenic and Talisman vehicles, leaving Android Auto to the Clio and Captur models.

The R-LINK 2 system, used as a multimedia center in the vehicles of the French brand Renault, will be compatible with Android Auto and CarPlay. Both systems will allow users to make use of the applications they have installed on their devices, integrating all this information on the vehicle's multimedia screen. Customers will be able to use the applications installed by command from time to time, without ever taking their eyes off the road.

The statement that Renault has published is a bit vague, since it implies, and without clarifying at any time, that the Clio and Captur models will not have support for CarPlay, but does not confirm if they will have support for Android Auto, or simply users who want to make use of this technology will have to pay about 500 euros to acquire and install a device compatible with this technology, devices that are slowly reaching the market and are the ideal option to enjoy CarPlay or Android Car in our vehicle without being forced to change vehicles.

The first vehicles to offer CarPlay at Renault They will do it from the month of April and will include three years of TomTom Live Traffic. So far this year, several manufacturers have decided to bet on CarPlay and Android Auto, such as Honda in the Civic model and Porsche with the impressive 911 GT3.

You forget that Renault in its vague and absurd movements leaves thousands of customers stranded since the first units of its theoretically compatible vehicles are not. They announced it in catalogs and videos but you can see that they forgot that detail.

They do not support all Scenics. Many of us were sold the motorcycle that would be a service that we could access with a software update and then hit the door in our faces.
Those of us who had the car ordered AT NO TIME did they give us the possibility, not even paying, to mount it.
It is a SHAME about RENAULT.
I leave the web in case some medium wants to echo how they treat us.

It is the same as the Renault Kadjar.
They sold it to us at the dealership that with a simple update we would have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and it turns out that nothing at all.
But it's more. Renault replied to an email, last year (2016), where they assured me that during the first half of 2017 ALL Kadjars would be compatible with an update they were preparing. To this day, the same person tells me that what he answered is that he is very sorry, but now, suddenly, my car will not be compatible.
And from what they told me the day of the purchase at the dealership and then they, by email, that they are sorry; they have "solved" it ...
Nor do I ask (we ask) that they give it to us for free, there are many people willing to pay for their R-Link 2 to be compatible with their mobile terminals.
That is the customer service and, after sales, that Renault has towards its (I don't think future) customers.
