One of the improvements implemented in OS X El Capitan and continuing with the series of posts in which we will see the improvements implemented in this new version of the Mac operating system, is Split View. For all those who do not yet know what this new feature added in Apple software consists of, we will quickly say that it is about power view two apps in full screen placed side by side allowing the user to improve a lot in terms of productivity. The good thing about Split View is the ease with which we will be able to activate and deactivate it. So without further ado we will see precisely this, how to activate this new option available on OS X El Capitan.

The first thing we are going to say is that we have two split view activation possibilities. For me personally the simplest option is press the green full screen button that is in the upper left corner of each of the windows, the one to maximize. By holding down the button with the mouse or trackpad, the blue background appears and we can move the window to the left or right. In the case of having two apps open, it will be easy to place them and if we have more than two they will appear in the form of thumbnail images (called thumbnails), click and hold on one of them and drag to the free side, leaving the two applications full screen.

The other option for activating Split View is via Mission Control. In this case, what we have to be clear about is that it is activated if we are using a window in full screen mode so once we are using this option we click on Mission Control and drag the other Split View compatible application down. Also in both cases it is possible choose the space that each app occupies on the screenTo do this, we only have to place the pointer on the black line and move to the side that we want to have more or less space.

Once the work is done, if we want to exit Split View, we take the pointer to the top of the screen and close some of the windows. Remember that not all apps are supported with this function but surely that little by little the developers will update them so that they are compatible.

I've been waiting for this improvement for a long time, it is very similar to window awesome from linux, in it you can play with the windows vertically, horizontally and with four windows at the same time, I hope they improve it. Now working with a 27 Thunderbolt display and a 27 iMac is great, although there are applications that I use that are still not updated, I hope they will soon, thanks Apple.

It is curious to realize the large number of people who do not know such a useful and also free application, such as BetterTouch Tool.
