Right now you are surely downloading the new operating system of the bitten apple, the system of their computers, the OS X El Capitan. A system that comes to solve OS X Yosemite performance problems as well as new features in its operation.

One of the novelties that comes from the hand of the Safari browser and is that from now on we will be able to have fixed tabs in addition to a function that will detect in which tab the sound of a video or advertisement is being played and to be able to stop it without having to enter it.

Our colleague Miguel Ángel Juncos already told us about it since the first beta versions of the system were launched, but today we want to talk about it again since in a few hours this new system will be the system that millions of users have installed on their Macs.

The idea of which we have spoken is not new and it is that other browsers already do a similar job in terms of the possible silencing of pages present in other tabs while we browse. As far as Safari is concerned, the news that we can highlight are the following:

Individual tabs (mute or play): From today you will be able to mute the tabs individually by clicking on the speaker icon on the tab itself.

Mute or activate all tabs at once: Another situation that you may encounter is that you have several tabs open at the same time and you want to silence them all at the same time or, on the contrary, remove the silence from them all at once. For this, you must use the speaker that in this case you have in the address bar.

Mute or activate all the other tabs except where we are: This is the third situation that can occur and that is that if you want to silence all the tabs except the one you are browsing in, you must right click on the speaker of the tab where you are and at that moment all but that one will be silenced.
