Safari Technology Preview

Apple launched yesterday afternoon a new version of its internet browser in testing phase Safari Technology Preview version 122. A version available for all those who want to try it, without having to be a developer, and that allows the company to try new things on countless different computers, before moving them to the native version that integrates macOS.

This is version 122 since this test system was launched in the 2016. It brings some bug fixes, and it also improves its performance over the previous version.

Apple has just released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser that the company first introduced in March 2016. With this version of its popular browser, it tests new ones that can be introduced later in future versions of Safari.

Safari Technology Preview version 122 includes bug fixes and performance improvements for Web Inspector, Animations, CSS, CSS Color, CSS Aspect Ratio, JavaScript, WebAssembly, Web API, Media, WebRTC, and Accessibility.

The current version of Safari Technology Preview is the one incorporated in the new Safari 14 update included in Big Sur macOS with support for Safari web extensions imported from other browsers, tab previews, password violation notifications, web authentication with Touch ID, and more.

This new update of Safari Technology Preview is available for both macos catalina as for macOS Big Sur, the latest version of the Mac operating system.

It is available through the software update mechanism in System Preferences to anyone who has downloaded the browser. The full release notes for the update can be found on the site websites from Safari Technology Preview.

Apple's goal with Safari Technology Preview is to collect feedback from developers and end users about its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview can run alongside your existing Safari browser, and although it is designed for developers at first, it does not require a developer account to download.
