Samnuel L. Jakcson will return to Apple TV with the series "The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray"

The Banker premiere in theaters

Before the official launch of Apple's streaming video service, the company was in contact with great figures of both film and television to nurture your new commitment to services with content. We saw some of these figures at the Apple TV + launch event in March last year.

But, they have not been the only ones, since Apple is also focusing on buying series / movies, not just producing them directly. Banker column has been one of the films that featured a great star like Samuel L. Jackson, an actor who will also be part of the cast of the series The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray for Apple TV ++, as claimed Variety.

The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray It will be a 6-episode mini-series and is based on the novel of the same name written by Walter Mosley, being Samuel L. Jackson the main character Ptolemy Gray, a 91-year-old lonely person who has been abandoned by himself as well as by all his family and friends.

When he is about to sink for good, he meets a 17-year-old, Robyn, at the funeral of his nephew, who challenges you to interact more with the world that surrounds him having the opportunity to try a drug that improves his compression but accelerates his death. Ptolemy uses the temporary lucidity that he makes thanks to that drug to investigate the death of his nephew who died in a shooting from his car.

This will be the second collaboration by Samuel L. Jackson, Apple's video streaming service, after collaborating with the film The Banker, a film in which he starred alongside Anthony Mackie and which Apple was forced to delay due to allegations of sexual harassment received by the nephew of whom the film is based.
