Several Apple services were down for more than an hour

Apple services-down-0

On several occasions it has already happened to me that, for example, an Apple service such as iCloud or iTunes It did not connect correctly with my account or it did not work directly, at first there is always a tendency to think of some local configuration failure of the account, so most of the users (including myself) tend to go directly to the configuration of our account, when it is most likely an incident outside of us in said service.

For this reason Apple makes available to users a website to check the status of its different services so that we do not go crazy thinking that the incidence is andn some part of the equipment configurationor. In this case, the news comes because the website showed a general drop in various key services for an hour.

Apple services-down-1

Here in Spain it has not been excessively serious since the hours where the incident occurred has been from 4:00 to 5:00 AM, so the volume of users using these services would be minimal. However, in other regions with different time zones such as the US, it has occurred around 7 PM, when the peak of use is very high among Mac and iOS users.

Specifically, the services that were affected and that were indicated as limited connectivity, were the iOS App Store, Mac App Store, Apple TV, iTunes Match, iTunes Store, Radio, and iBooks, which became unavailable around 7:10 pm Pacific Time, taking more than an hour to resolve the problems arising from this crash.

For its part, the cut in the Maps service it was worse if possible, since there was shortly before 8 pm and it lasted about half an hour before a solution was given, in this case directly all users who tried to connect to the Maps servers showed a critical error so they could not navigate or search for addresses.

The facts that led to this situation are unknown and Apple has not given an explanation for the fall of so many services practically at the same time. We must remember that recently in October there were already temporary cuts of services of iTunes and the App Store in iOS four times during a whole week. Hopefully the incident will not be repeated, at least in this massive way.
