What this soft does is allow to reduce the brightness of the screen below normal, an operation necessary on special occasions such as navigating in a dark room or in case you are Pinocchio and you want to check your mail inside the entrails of the whale.
Well, Shades is a free application but the authors say that they could use some other donation.
