Silent Start, allows us to deactivate the startup sound of our Mac

One of the characteristics that allows us to quickly recognize if a computer is a Mac or a PC, if we do not have eye contact, is the classic Startup Chime, that characteristic sound that sounds every time we start our Mac. Sound was created by Jim Reekes in 1991 and began to be used in the second stage of Steve Jobs in the company, when from 1997 it began to launch what would be the new range of Mac with which the company managed to reach the general public, thanks to its design. This sound can sometimes be annoying depending on the moment and the situation in which we find ourselves.

Fortunately we can deactivate or activate this sound quickly from our Mac, so that, depending on the situation, it can cause a nuisance in our environment or not. Of all the applications that allow us to deactivate or activate this sound at will, it stands out Silence Start, an application that has usually had a price of 4,99 euros, but that for several weeks has been available indefinitely for download free of charge.

But it is not the only function that this application offers us, since it also restores the sound of our Mac to the usual volume, ideal for those occasions when we have had to turn up the volume too much to enjoy a video and we have not remembered to restore it to the usual sound before turning off our Mac. Surely on some occasion you have forgotten this change in volume and When you play a new video or music, you got a scare on your nose, when checking the sound it was higher than normal.

Silent Start, it only occupies 1 MB, is available in English and is compatible with OS X 10.9 onwards and requires a 64-bit processor.
