Skype for Mac reaches version 7.50 adding a file sharing extension

Microsoft continues to add new functions in the Skype for Mac application, functions that are currently not available in the Windows version, such as support for the Touch Bar or the sharing function built into macOS, which is pmain novelty that we can find in the latest update of Skype for Mac. In this way the guys from Redmond want to try to get fully involved and not be left out of the messaging applications, although honestly it may be a little late to the party, a party where WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are the current kings of messaging, but not the video call, where Skype is the absolute king.

As we can read on the Skpye blog:

Today we are pleased to announce that version 7.5 for Mac will add the Share extension for users of macOS 10.10 or higher. Now you can share files, videos, photos, links, and more directly through Skype. Just right click on what you want to share, select Share and finally Skype.

Once we have updated the application to version 7.5, we must enable the functionality through System Preferences> Extensions> Share Menu and select the checkbox to enable Skype.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, Skype also offers us compatibility with the new MacBook Pro and the Touch Bar, allowing us to make use of the application directly from the OLED touch screen of the new generation of MacBook Pro that were launched shortly before the end of the year, a model that initially received a large number of criticisms, criticisms that did not allow it to be one of the devices recommended by Consumer Reports, one of the most important buying guides in the United States, due to the problems with the battery that they had demonstrated since its launch.
