Sonos continues its competition strategy for the HomePod

Sonos One There are colors

One of the things that Apple has taken into account when putting on sale your HomePod smart speaker, are the colors available, returning to the ideals that CEO Steve Jobs implanted for many years. Less is more and that was noticeable with the products that were on the market in only two colors and few models. Now things have changed a lot And at Apple we have a long catalog of products that can be configured in terms of colors, features and capabilities that sometimes make us not know what is best.

With the arrival of the HomePod we see that only one model has been made in two colors, black and white. The direct and most important competition that is Sonos has also had the same philosophy until today and is that despite the fact that they themselves say that their speakers go unnoticed in homes due to their design and available colors, now things change.

Our speakers are not designed to attract attention but to blend naturally into their surroundings, says Sonos Vice President of Design Tad Toulis. Even with the addition of colors to the product line Sonos in black and white, the new HAY Sonos One manages to maintain that aesthetic subtlety.

Color is one of the most important tools in the design process, and it was very important that we not only created a color scale that looked beautiful, says HAY co-founder and creative director Mette Hay. Colors can be completely hidden and faded or provide contrast.

Sonos has created a new series of colors for its Sonos One speaker in which it adds three new tones, thus being able to compete even more with the HomePod that Apple has not yet launched in all countries. Now we have the possibility to buy a limited edition three-color Sonos speaker in green, yellow and red. These are not strident colors, the three shades being very close to pastel colors.

The Sonos One HAY will be available in September at sonos.com, at Sonos flagship stores in New York, London and Berlin.
