The irruption of Apple Pay around the world is being staggered and since the Cupertino firm it is trying to reach all corners of the planet as soon as possible. In this sense, it must be taken into account that there are all kinds of agreements and negotiations with banks and it does not seem easy to implement this payment method.
During this beginning of the year they talked about the arrival of the service in South Africa sometime this year and since MacRumors echo some tweets in which it is officially confirmed that Discovery, Nedbank and Absa customers can now add their cards to the Wallet application.
Thus Apple Pay service officially arrives to south africa as confirmed by Alastair Hendricks and other users on the networks:
Apple Pay has just gone live in South Africa 🚀 🌍
So far it looks like @Discovery_SA and @Nedbank cards are supported.

The expansion of this service is undoubtedly something very positive for Apple and also for users who can start using this safe and reliable payment method with their Mac, Apple Watch, iPhone or iPad. This payment service with Apple was launched about 7 years ago in the United States and is slowly expanding around the world. It is not so long ago that this Apple payment service arrived in Mexico, there are rumors that it will also start working in Israel shortly and today its arrival was confirmed for users in South Africa.
