Stanford University promotes the use of the Apple Watch in medicine

Stanford University, it sure sounds like more than one, because it was the place where Steve Jobs delivered that emotional speech that many still remember today. Apple has been trying for some time to focus the Apple Watch in addition to the iPhone, as an essential element in the daily lives of users, so that through the different applications that it integrates and that can be installed through the App Store, we can te have more precise control over our health thanks to the HealthKit and CareKit platforms, which put patients in contact with doctors in near real time.

Stanford University has launched a new program in which it will provide the center's faculty and instructors with an Apple Watch to further research on the device in the health field. In addition to handing out 1.000 Apple Watch to staff with and showing interest in research, the university offers a price of $ 10.000 to the winning project. The research project that Stanford University will launch will begin in April of this year.

We are very interested in high impact projects that will positively influence the clinical workflow within a selected population.

The Apple device must be integrated into a general program where its detection capacity (activity rate, heart rhythm ...) is used to measure the process of the population subjected to such study. This project will also take into account the solution projects that are used to communicate the information that the device has collected in addition to being able to share it in a more free and functional way than up to now. All solutions that are presented must use an application for iOS and must also include an extension or design a workflow, where notifications can be delivered to the Apple Watch.
