Steam Link comes to iOS and if you have an Apple TV you can play on the living room TV

And it is a while ago that Steam Link was officially announced and a few hours ago it was launched for iOS users. But obviously all those users who also have a fourth generation Apple TV or higher at home will be able to enjoy this app to enjoy the games that we have on Steam directly on our television. In this case it is something that confirmed the same Phill Schiller, at the time of launch and after months of negotiations to launch this functional app between Steam and Apple, we can already say that it is official.

You can play Steam games from an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV by streaming from a Mac or PC

This without a doubt is the magic of this application that has just been launched for iOS devices and Apple TV. With it installed on our device we can play any of the Steam games on the iPhone, iPad or Apple TV broadcasting directly from a Mac or PC. The requirements of this app are basic for it to work perfectly and are the following:

  • Have a Steam account running on Mac, Windows or Linux
  • Have an iPhone or iPad with iOS 10 or higher
  • Both computers (iPhone and Mac) have to be on the same network
  • 30 MB minimum space

Obviously we can use any type of MFi remote or Steam Controller to be able to play better on the device. Once the app is downloaded to our iPhone, iPad or Apple TV SteamLink, it is easy to use and we can enjoy streaming games from anywhere in the house. The official announcement was made a few hours ago but it was actually a little over a year since this app was officially announced to be able to control the account and the games in our library through Steam Link.
