A few days ago, my partner Jordi informed you about the Telegram app update for Mac, one of the two applications that Telegram makes available to us for Mac users. Today it is our turn to talk about the news that comes from the update of the other application: Telegram Desktop.
Telegram offers us two applications that practically offer us the same functions, but that are designed for different uses. While the Desktop version is designed to use the service and get the most out of the functions it offers, the normal version is designed to maintain communications mainly.
Below we show you what are the news that come from the hand of the new Telegram Desktop update, whose version number is 1.5:
What's new in version 1.5 of Telegram Desktop
- Custom Language Support: Collectively create a cloud-based language pack for Telegram using our Translation Platform and then apply it in real time.
- Interface scale for large screens, up to 300% (up to 150% for macOS retina displays).
- Set "Count unread messages" for the balloon on the icon, in Settings> Notifications. Disable it to show the number of unread chats, which allows us to quickly know the number of conversations we have pending.
- Video messages are located in Multimedia, just below voice messages.
- We can reproduce voice and video messages at double speed with the 2X mode.
- We can add comments when sharing posts from channels.
- See all photos and videos on Twitter and Instagram link previews.
- Add emojis to multimedia comments.
If you have not yet encouraged to use Telegram as your main communication platform, once you try it you will not be able to stop using it, especially if you spend many hours in front of the computer, since it will prevent you from continually leaving what you are doing to check the new messages you have received through your usual messaging platform, which will probably be WhatsApp.
