Tesla shows dissatisfaction with the first Watchkit for the Apple Watch

Although the sentence of the headline at the head of the article may seem somewhat lapidary, it does not mean that they are really unhappy, but simply that the tools that have come into their hands they are not what they expected in terms of freedom to be able to develop more complex and therefore better applications. For now, this first development kit for the Apple Watch is an approach to what is expected to be really a set of tools with which to get much more out of the functions that the aforementioned Apple watch integrates.

I say all this because recently the electric car manufacturer, Tesla, has been creating its own application for the Apple Watch with this first development kit to be able to access all the data of the car from the watch itself and even control some functions of the same . However, he has declared that he is not entirely satisfied with the work carried out and not because there was no emphasis on creating something good but because of the limitations imposed by Apple in this kit.

If we are guided by this premise, a developer who works for the Tesla company has said that applications that really take advantage of the Apple Watch will not be seen until well after its launch in April of this year. Something like the first iPhone that was launched in 2007 where its capabilities were very restricted and third-party applications were nothing more than web applications without too much access to more advanced functions of the smartphone.

For now, many of the applications that are created for the Apple Watch will only work if the watch itself is connected to an iPhone in tethering mode since otherwise by itself it could not work, something that reduces the functionality of the Apple Watch itself. The conclusion this ELEKS labs developer leads us to is that,

Simply put, the Apple Watch is simply an additional monitor connected to your iPhone and cannot do anything by itself… As we have seen so far, the Apple Watch without an iPhone is actually nothing more than a useless toy.

Even so, from my point of view it is a new product that opens a new line at Apple and therefore has to spend some time for it to begin to mature, so effectively the first applications will not take full advantage of the device but only time will tell if it really is what we all expected.
