The AirPower charging base goes into production this January

Announced in Keynote September 2017, the charging dock AirPower Apple seems to finally go into production this January, to be present in Apple stores next February and March.

We know the news through the twitter of ChargerLab, which during this weekend is released information about the Apple charging platform designed for the wireless charging of compatible iPhones, AirPods, and Apple Watch. The latest information talks about the manufacturer Luxshare Precision and the order by Apple to start the production next January 21

The ChargerLab itself speaks on behalf of a credible source in the supply chain, which reported that AirPower production is underway. To give credibility to the news, the same ChargedLab tweet includes a conversation with the source. The company in charge of manufacturing the AirPower is a regular Apple supplier. Among the products we have AirPods and USB-C cables. If so, Bloomberg's claims that Pegatron was to be the supplier of the AirPowers are not met. However, another option would be for the two companies to share production: Luxshare the components and Pegatron the assembly.

The feature that differentiates Apple's charging base from its competitors seems to be the three layer coil that counts inside. But we also find ourselves with doubts about the AirPower. Apple plans to release a box for charging AirPods wirelessly, but at least for the moment, we have no news on the ChargerLab twitter. In any case, we must maintain this information with some caution. Even if it is true, Apple's claims can be modified at any time.

In any case, we should see founded news sometime in the first quarter of 2019. In Soy de Mac We will keep you informed of any news in this regard.
