Apple Car project manager leaves company

apple car

Last year began with the first rumors that claimed that Apple would have in mind to get into the automotive world manufacturing an electric vehicle, which the media soon called Apple Car. This new project that is scheduled to see the light for the year 2019 or 2020, would be called Titan.

Last Friday, The Wall Street Journal announced that Steve Zadesky, Apple's vice president of design and product and Titan project manager announced that he is leaving the company, apparently for personal reasons.

At the moment Zadesky will continue in the position until those of Cupertino find the right person to be able to supply the experience and knowledge that Zadesky has at present and that are related to the project. Zadesky's departure is a severe blow to Appleas it may force Apple to rethink the idea of the electric car or have to postpone the launch date if they finally cannot find the right person to continue leading the working group of more than 1000 engineers who are currently collaborating in the project.

Many of these engineers have come from Tesla, Samsung, Nvidia and Ford. In fact, Zadesky came to Apple after working at Ford until 1999. Since then, he has collaborated on several company projects such as the iPhone and iPod, as well as having participated in numerous patents that the Cupertino-based firm has registered in recent years.

Serial production of the Apple Car, or whatever it is finally called, should start in late 2019, early 2010, but some analysts say that date seems too hasty and that perhaps those of Cupertino will have to delay it because apparently the project has faced internal problems due to the lack of clear objectives, to which Zadesky's departure will surely not contribute at all.

I like the initiative to create electric cars, but it is discouraging to see that Apple seems to have lost the north, that is, it went from being a company that created functional computers and mobiles, to a company that doesn't even know what to do ...
