The cheap HomePod would be smaller and with several streaming music services

The possible new version of HomePod he also plans these days more intensively among the rumors. For months we have had rumors about this new speaker supposedly lower in price than the current model and sometimes we have even thought that it was coming soon because of the sales on the current model, but for now we are still waiting.

Well, according to the well-known media Bloomberg, the next HomePod model could arrive this year and would be smaller and with compatibility to other music streaming services that we currently have available.

Cheaper and compatible with music outside of Apple Music

This would be the prominent headline in this rumor and is that in addition to being somewhat cheaper than the current one, it would allow to play music from other streaming services beyond Apple Music. This would be an important step to gain market and is that today the price is important for the user, but to be able to listen to our music no need to use AirPlay for it it would be an important step. The current HomePod is undoubtedly a spectacular speaker in terms of performance, design and sound quality, so having a cheaper model with some inferior features could be another step for the company in this type of product.

There is no reason to think that Apple will launch this HomePod in the next few days and also that it is not planning a year full of product news. We have to be clear that these new devices will arrive but as usually happens in Apple they will be staggered and not all at once. Also with the coronavirus crisis all these presentations and new product launches take a back seat.
