Like many Mondays, Apple has released the new betas of what will be the new versions of its operating systems. Apple today also released the fourth beta of the upcoming tvOS 11.4 update for developers for testing, one week after the third beta and more than a month after the tvOS 11.3 update was released.
Designed for fourth and fifth generation Apple TV models, the new tvOS 11.4 developer beta can be downloaded to Apple TV via a profile that is installed with Xcode. as you will know if you regularly follow what we tell about the little one in the Apple family.
tvOS 11.4, along with iOS 11.4, reintroduces the long-awaited AirPlay 2 features that were present in previous versions of tvOS and iOS 11.3, but they were eliminated before launch of them, which suggests that Apple is saving that functionality for an upcoming event.
With AirPlay 2, the same audio content can be played on multiple devices (such as Apple TV) throughout your home, and audio playback can be controlled via iPhone or via Siri commands. After installing iOS 11.4 and tvOS 11.4, Apple TV will also appear again in the Home app list.
In the first two updates of tvOS 11.4, no new features were discovered and it is likely that in this fourth beta the focus will be on bug fixes and other small improvements. Apple tvOS updates they have historically been on a smaller scale and we may not find any other new additions.
