The HomePod cable will be replaceable and will measure two meters

Last week Apple officially announced the opening date of the reservation period, which began on Friday, January 26. Starting next February 9, the first lucky ones who have already reserved it, will begin to receive the first units as long as they reside in the United States, Australia or the United Kingdom.

Since Apple announced the official launch, many have been the information that we have published about it. But there is a section that especially attracts attention and is the one that shows us the contents of the box. As we can see in the description, the HomePod container box only brings the device itself and the corresponding documentation, so it follows that the power cord is integrated into the chassis.

If so, it would be bad news for those users who have a problem with the device's power cord, either by accident, because our pet has bitten it, or simply due to the low quality of the materials used by Apple, to try to comply with the ecological regulations (surely on some occasion the lightning cable of your iPhone or iPad has started to wear excessively on the connector part).

But as soon as the news broke, a company spokesperson has tried to calm the waters on the matter by stating that the box contents also include a power cord that will connect to the back of the device, a cable that in case of wear or accident, we can easily replace with another. This spokesperson has taken advantage of this clarification to report that the power cable will have a length of 2 meters, and that it will be available in white or black, depending on the device we buy.

As it happened with the 2-meter cable of the original Apple Watch or the original iPad Pro, which was also 2 meters, it is more than likely that Apple will make available to users a 1 meter HomePod power cord, so that we do not have to be doing tricks if the connection plug is very close to the location we have in mind for the HomePod.
