Currently both Spotify and Apple Music, they are the kings of streaming music, a sector where only these companies advertise user data, both subscribers and subscribers and users of the free version, such as Spotify. But in addition to these services, there are other alternatives on the market such as Amazon Prime Music, Google Music or Tidal.
Of these three streaming music services we have never had official data about the number of users and it's unlikely we'll ever know. Currently both Spotify and obviously Apple Music are compatible with CarPlay, but after the last update of the Tidal application, this has also become an option to listen to our favorite music, as long as we pay the subscription.

The latest update of the Tidal application for iOS, not only includes compatibility with this Apple technology to connect the multimedia center of our vehicle, but also offers us a new dark theme, to take advantage of the OLED screen of the new iPhone And incidentally, it has also been adapted to the new screen format of the iPhone X.
Apple presented CarPlay at WWDC 2014, a technology that today is increasingly available in more vehicles, mainly as an option, something that will probably change over time. But despite the fact that more and more vehicle manufacturers are betting on this technology, the number of compatible applications is still very small.
If we stop to find which applications are currently compatible with CarPlay, we find streaming music applications such as Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal, as well as applications to play our favorite podcasts. We can also find some other map application and a little more. Taking into account that this technology is mainly to consult information related to our trip or to play music, it is logical that many applications have not been updated or will not do so soon.
