The 32Gb RAM MacBook Pro won't be available until at least 2019

Intel today announced that it will delay its 10nm Cannon Lake processor. Initially, the processor that would foreseeably allow MacBook Pro with 2018GB of RAM was prepared for mid-32. Predictably we won't see it until 2019. The news comes from Intel's quarterly report, in which you report your income forecast. This report extracts the delay in serving the new Intel processors.

The processor firm will continue to assemble the 14 gauge modules during 2018, according to insights that we know from PC Games. This news does not confirm in any case that the next MacBook Pros mount 32GB of RAM.

Apparently, and According to information from his own, Brian Krzanich CEO of Intel, the delay is caused by the performance problems of the 10nm Chips. Intel wants to properly test its own product, before it is released, and not have to release update after update. In addition, any move by Intel will be in the spotlight after the Specter and Meltdown cases.

Intel announces low-power mobile 'Kaby Lake' processors

Intel's intention with the Cannon Lake processors is to provide performance improvements, coupled with lower consumption. This lower consumption translates at the same time into low working temperatures and a greater autonomy of the batteries.

With these chips available from Apple, MacBook and MacBook Pro can be mounted, with LPDDR4 memories that will replace the current DDR4. To date we can only mount 16GB of RAM, with current processors.

On the one hand, it is good that Intel releases a product only when its performance is proven. But on the other hand, It is not the first time that it is delayed in the release of processors. In April 2017 it was rumored that the processors would be delayed until 2018, then it was moved to September and currently it is expected to see this generation of processors starting in 2019, until we see Intel's decision regarding the new processors, the next teams will carry 14nm chips under the name Coffee Lake.

There are already notebooks with 32GB of DDR4 RAM, which is not LPDDR4, for example, the Dell XPS that supports 32Gb of RAM. They could perfectly have mounted DDR4 memory with the current MBP, instead of putting LPDDR3.

Apple has now given up leaving the computer section, there are several obsolete models. They focus on other devices, and some of us like computers. I've been waiting months for the iMAC to be upgraded to the XNUMXth generation intel processor. But nothing, they will give me the grapes waiting.
