The next MacBooks will be made in Vietnam

Apple to benefit from Foxconn's business move

One of the premises of 2023 is that it is more than likely to be the year of the Mac. Both in its Air and Pro versions of the MacBook range, going through the presumable iMac Pro that can be created, they will all come next year . Taking these rumors into account, it must be said that the American company does not want the problems that have arisen this year-end in China with restrictions, protests and closures to happen again. Therefore, there is talk that Apple will transfer production to the neighboring country, Vietnam.

It is clear that in order to remain at the top of the sales, production, and quality charts, the manufacturing of the devices should be a priority. This year a series of problems have arisen in China, especially with the issue of government restrictions related to COVID-19. Restrictions that have been accompanied by mass protests by workers, who have thus wanted to show the existing disagreement with some decisions.

For this reason, one of the main reasons for Apple is to try to reduce the strong dependence they have on China. Therefore, they will transfer the production, a part, to the neighboring country, Vietnam. Apple plans to produce some MacBook Pro models in the country starting in May 2023. According to Nikkei Asia, not just Macs. All Apple flagship products they will basically have a production location beyond China. iPhones in India and MacBooks, Apple Watches and iPads in Vietnam.

He has it easy, because Foxconn announced in August 2022 that it planned to invest 300 million dollars to expand its North Vietnamese facilities. That adds to the fact that in 2021, local authorities approved a new $270 million Foxconn factory.

So it is more than likely that the next Mac that we buy in mid-2023 They were made in Vietnam even though they are still designed in California.
