The sale price of the Mac Pro shoots up

Speaking of prices, the news of the moment is the launch of the updated models of both the 15 ″ MacBook Pro and iMac Retina having the latter in its entry range, a more reasonable starting price. Although to be fair, at this point Apple has used a little marketing "trick", as there are certain cuts in the specifications such as the elimination of the Fusion Drive or a less powerful graphics card compared to the previous base iMac model.

On the other hand, returning to the news, as we already anticipated in a previous post, the Mac Pro has also undergone price changes but this time upwards, that is, we can find variations in the price that go from 400 Euros in the basic model to 600 Euros in the highest model of the range.

In this case we would think that the specifications of the equipment should have been modified but it has not been the case, each and every one of the original characteristics has been maintained, being basically the same model.

In this way we can see that the basic version with a quad-core Xeon, an AMD FirePro D300 dual GPU configuration and 12 Gb of RAM rises to 3.449 Euros While the advanced version with a six-core Xeon processor, dual FirePro D500 GPUs and 16 Gb of RAM reaches up to 4.649 Euros.

I am inclined to think that these price readjustments have to do with what we have already seen about the tax return in Ireland by Apple and the tax in the United Kingdom that came into force on April 1 for which Apple had to pay the 25% of the profits generated to the state in question, apart from that we would also have to take into account the depreciation of the euro against the dollar.

The only thing that is clear is that in the end it is the buyer who loses in this fight of companies to continue increasing profits at the expense of customers and at any price, never better.
