Today we have known the Sonos for Mac update and other desktop operating systems. The growth of mobile devices means that dependence on other devices remains in the background for certain tasks, such as the Mac. Even so, there are many of us who spend many hours in front of a Mac screen and having everything centralized on the Mac is very productive.
One of these tasks is managing the speakers in our room. In this case, we know the latest update to the Sonos for Mac application, which is the version 9.2. But to the surprise of many, features have been removed.
In this new version, we can see in the update notes:
- We can keep each of our devices updated from the Mac. Downloading and updating is done easily, at times when the speaker does not emit sound.
- We can assign a maximum volume per device. This is especially suitable for speakers in rooms with children, so that they do not exceed the permitted level.
- And the latest news is the possibility of disable a connection to a speaker.
But as we have commented, the absences, that the news. While it is true that, the developers have opted for a simplification of the functions in the Mac version.
Configuration options have been removed from the Desktop Controller for Windows and macOS. It is no longer possible to use the desktop driver to configure or transfer to a Sonos system, add a player, create or separate speakers for stereo broadcast, register speakers, set up a TV, enable the parental controls, manage network settings, adjust line-in settings, be in or out of beta programs, or change passwords for Sonos accounts.
Moreover, Sonos encourages using the iOS or Android version to make other adjustments that until now could be done from the Mac. At least, a solution would involve the development of third-party applications that make up for the absence left by the official Sonos application.
