It was first announced last summer that the version of the well-known text editor was about to be updated to version 5. However, this update has not arrived until today for macOS.
The reasons why the new version has been delayed are unknown. On the one hand, certain new features were published for the iOS version and it was planned to have a windows version, to make a multiplatform system. Due to these problems or others, the update was finally delayed and today it has been released with new aesthetic and internal improvements.
In this new version we find a interface with some small changes. The file system has also changed, giving a more solid look. Specifically, it allows them to set favorite files, a specific folder of files and folders that we are using recently, in order to find them in less time.
Assigning a folder or file as a favorite is as simple as dragging and dropping the item to the side area designated for it.. You can also import an item into iA Writer directly from the Finder and if you want, star it as a favorite in one step.
Access to these favorites can be done directly with a keyboard shortcut, since the application associates a shortcut to each element. In the folders, we can separate the texts intended for the personal from the professional.
We have a improved file management. Also these are the intuitive macOS managers. That is, now we can select several files with the Cmd key pressed or a list by clicking on the first one, press uppercase and select the last one. That is, the same system as the one used in the Finder. With this selection, you can move them to another folder. In addition, file management has more new features, such as the possibility of viewing a history of the consulted or edited documents.
