They get more than 600.000 dollars in an auction of an Apple I

It is not the first nor the last time that one of these legendary Apple I computers goes up for auction and the prices that some of them manage to reach are truly spectacular. In this case it is an Apple I model that is fully functional and that managed to rise in price just over $ 600.00.

Really the sales forecast for this museum piece was about $ 800.000 so the appraisal was even somewhat above what was obtained in the auction. Even so, the price obtained for this collector's item seems really incredible to us.

The model of this auction also adds some history and it was acquired by Rick Conte in 1977 and has been in the hands of an NGO since 2007. The Apple I carries several documents of interest such as: the documentation and a copy of the agreement between Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, a series of documents on Apple's own creation and the business cards they handed out to make themselves known in those years.

As you already know (this is already history) The Apple I's were hand-assembled by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak in the garage of Jobs's parents' house. Only about 200 units were created and they were sold without a monitor, keyboard or power supply so they were already expensive in those days, but now their value is much higher. After this Apple I came the model called Apple II, of which there are not very good memories since it precipitated the first crisis of the North American company, one of the most serious in its history, from which they managed to get out years later. Currently, the few Apple I that are preserved can be sold for really high prices, as is the case with this unit that achieved a good figure.
