The 1st Apple computer in history, the Apple-1 It consisted of a small kit to assemble the computer yourself. Buyers had to solder whatever chips they needed to the motherboard and even other things like the keyboard, the monitor, even the power supply. Paul Terrel was intrigued as to why they hadn't made the entire computer so that their users didn't have to assemble it themselves.
Paul terrel opened a store called byte-shop in Mountain View in December 1975. It was one of the world's first computer stores and evangelized many to help these types of stores spread throughout the world. Why am I telling you this?
In 1976 two geeks with a passion for the tech industry walked through their door and tried to convince Terrel to buy the rudimentary computer they had built together. These two characters were Steve Jobs y Steve Wozniak.
The computer did not include a case either, at first, so when Steve Jobs stood in the store of Paul Terrell (Owner of one of the first computer stores in the area) he showed some interest in the equipment but logically demanded as a requirement to sell the equipment that had a casing.
The casing was also made by them, and friends like Jobs's girlfriend, entirely of wood. The computer was sold to Terrell for $ 500 and later to the public for the well-known figure of $ 666.66.
