Tim Cook is committed to a carbon neutral economy

Tim Cook speaks at the United Nations Summit on Climate Ambition

Last Saturday took place at the United Nations headquarters the Summit on Climate Ambition. Among all the invited to speak at the same, was Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. And he took the opportunity to highlight the actions carried out by the company he directs for the benefit of the planet. In his speech he also advocated the achievement of a carbon neutral economy.

The United Nations summit on climate ambition that It took place on Saturday, December 12, brought together a great multitude of personalities from politics and the economy with a common interest: the achievement of a carbon neutral economy. This means that you have to invest more in renewable energy. The companies of today and of the future cannot generate toxins that compromise the planet and those who live on it.

The effects of climate change are felt throughout society. The Summit is a useful platform to advocate for those who suffer disproportionately from the impacts of climate variability. The Summit also serves as a platform for companies, cities and other non-state actors that, together, are collaborating to support governments and accelerate the systemic change that is needed.

Tim Cook defended the importance that each one of us has in this work. Even more so, the leaders of the countries that must and have «a particular burden to act on the environment«. He continued his speech arguing that "each new green innovation offers proof that the planet improves." "Together we can move to a carbon neutral economy and usher in a new era of inclusive opportunity."

Hopefully his words do not fall on deaf ears and many other companies follow Apple's example (I do not mean to remove the charger from new devices) and adapt their companies and turn them into non-polluting centers.
