Transfer your videos from Mac to Chromecast with the new application: iCast for ChromeCast

The iCast for ChromeCast app arrives at the Mac application store, which, as its name suggests, is intended for those users who have a Chromecast, Android TV or GoogleCast and a Mac at home. With this new application that has been launched in the Mac App Store just a couple of days ago, what we are allowed is the possibility to broadcast the content of our Mac directly to GoogleCast, ChromeCast and Android TV. All this in a simple and fast way, thanks to this application

There is not much more we can say about this application other than to explain some of the features offered for 0,99 euros, which is the price it has. So we are going to see the support offered by this new application to the equipment that we can have at home such as those mentioned above, the Chromecast, a television with Android TV or GoogleCast.

  • All ChromeCast Compatible Devices
  • Televisions that have Android TV (Sony, Sharp, Nexus Player or Nvidia Shield)
  • Offers 1080p video quality
  • Full support for AVI, MKV and many more files
  • Allows you to control the volume and offers subtitles
  • 3D Videos, Mp3 and Music streaming

The application interface is simple and easy to use, so in this sense there is not much to comment. In short, it is a fairly complete application that allows us to share the content of our Mac directly on other devices. We are sure that in the application store for Mac we can find other applications similar to this one, but the best thing if you have a Mac and several Apple devices at home is to consider buying an Apple TV, but these are already personal decisions.

The invention is great but the pity is that it does not work. It does not matter that the videos are not heavy because either the buffering load does not start or does not work and it is choppy in a way that it is impossible to view. I have the Mac located just 2 meters from the TV so I rule out that it is because of being at a great distance from each other. The Youtube videos or programs on demand that I send from both the Mac and the iPad, are reproduced perfectly. But although this application is ideal to save you the step of having to record your videos on a pendrive and then tap it on the TV, also with the limitation of formats that most TV's allow, in the end it turns out that it is useless because it does not work.

I agree with Xeic. Clearer has not been able to explain. A chestnut from App. The idea seemed good to me, but if it worked. Requested a return to Apple after testing it for 15 minutes. I didn't need more….

Good luck to the writer of this article, who must have worked very well to dedicate such a "positive" post.

I go back to my artisanal method and that is great for me, movies all to a good Pen and I forget about crappy inventions that do not work ...
