Tweetbot for Mac is updated now allowing you to quote Tweets and create longer direct messages

Relatively recently, developer Tapbots launched the so long-awaited version 2.0 of Tweetbot for Mac, hands down the best Twitter client on OS X by far. Now comes the news that has been updated to version 2.0.1 with support in a new format to quote tweets as well as the possibility of sending long direct messages of up to 10.000 characters, once the function is activated on Twitter.

Tweetbot in addition to having been awarded several times as an essential application, has a fantastic support for multiple accounts and lists. It even has advanced filters, multiple columnar view formats, and many other features that make it the most complete of all on its own merits.

The general characteristics of the app are listed below:

  • Designed for OS X: Tweetbot feels fully integrated into Yosemite with a minimalist interface, different animations and support for Retina displays in addition to the notification center.
  • Multiple columns and windows: It is possible to open saved searches, lists, mentions, conversations in direct messages and more, in different columns or windows so that you never miss a tweet again.
  • Filters to mute: Tweets that you don't want to see can be hidden for a period of time or forever. The person or user is assigned said mute, it can also be done with hashtags or tweets through keywords (including regular expressions).
  • Synchronization between devices: If Tweetbot is used on iOS, your Timeline, unread status, and mute filters will automatically stay in sync so you can always pick up where you left off across devices.
  • Third party support: Tweetbot supports bitly, CloudApp, Droplr, img.ly, Instapaper, Mobypicture, Bulletin board, Pocket, Readbility and yfrog
