One of the big drawbacks that EyeTV has is that in addition to the program it puts many helpers and daemons into the system and eats memory without being used, so if you uninstall it by dragging the application to the trash there are some curious memory gaps.
The solution -found by googling, of course- is to use the EyeTV Reporter, a utility very little promoted by Elgato but it works like a charm to uninstall the program.
It's all about hitting "Simple" and the program will disappear with its helpers effectively.
