The applications that allow us to compress files and documents they have been with us for many years. One of the most popular during the 90s in MS-DOS and Windows was ARJ, a format that as time went by disappeared from the market, to be cannibalized by the ZIP format.
But the ZIP format is not the only compression format currently used to compress files in order to share them more easily. RAR, 7Z, TAR and many others are the formats that we can find on a day-to-day basis. To decompress all of them we have at our disposal many applications on the Mac App Store.
It is likely that if you regularly work with these types of files, you already have a favorite application to be able to access the information that is inside.
