vGuru Video Player, a paid alternative to VLC

When choosing a video player, depending on the preferences we have when installing applications (from or outside the Mac App Store), we have at our disposal a series of applications with which we can have more or fewer functions at our disposal.

VLC is one of the best, if not the best, application to be able to play any video not only on macOS, but also on any other platform. However, as I discussed above, not all users may be interested in installing applications that have not been reviewed by Apple. An alternative available on the Mac App Store to VLC is vGuru Video Player.

vGuru is compatible with more than 200 formats, both video and audio, and among which we can find MTS, MKV, VOB, MP4, AVI, MP4, 4K, SRT, ASS… So we will not have problems when adding the subtitle files to our videos. In addition, it allows us to play video in 4k quality, without quality loss.

This application offers us 4 modes of reproduction, modes that we can use to automatically configure the video that we want to reproduce depending on whether they are cartoons, videos with little lighting or outdoors… so that the colors are the closest to reality.

vGuru, also allows us to adjust the contrast and brightness, to adjust it to the lighting conditions of our environment if the different modes it offers us do not help us in this task. It also allows us to play videos directly from a web link, without the need to use Adobe's Flash technology.

vGuru Video Player has a price in the Mac App Store of 5,49 euros, for a limited time, since its usual price is 19,99 euros, being an excellent opportunity if you are looking for a video and audio player that is available in the Mac App Store. If this is not the case and you don't mind installing applications from outside of it, VLC is still the best option to consider.
